Rupiah Bwezani Banda born 19 February in 1937 died on 11 March 2022 following a serious battle with Cancer.
Cancer has seen claiming the life of his first wife “Hope Banda” and now it has claimed his own.
He served in different public offices before he was appointed Vice president ahead of the 2006 General Election, Following the demise of His Excellence Levy Mwanawansa (RIP), Rupiah Banda was then appointed acting President awaiting the 2008 By-elections.
In 2008, He was elected zambians Fourth Republican President, beating what was the main opposition party PF which was being lead by Michael SATA (RIP).
He ruled zambia from 2008-2011 following a landslide defeat to Micheal SATA.
It is on this day that we remember all his great Work he contributed to this great Nation.
