Chile 84 Biography
Know your rising Star – Kelvin Chirwa professionally known as Chile 84 was born in 1992 on 26th February, In a remote area located miles away from Chipata Town ,Eastern Province at Mphofu Village of Chief Mafuta. Having born in a Christianity Home, Chile 84 was forced to join choir in 2007 of RCZ, Later he was appointed as a Choir Master.
But Why The Name Chile 84?
Having Known his real name as Kelvin Chirwa, When he was doing his 9th grade in 2012 at Rukuzye Primary School in Chipata, One of his female teacher who happens to be Bemba by Tribe had issues when Calling Out His Surname Chirwa, Then she suggested to Nickname him Chile. From that time all his classmates and those members from the choir started Calling him by the nickname Chile. On the other Creative side of him combining with the enthusiasm he had when he first stepped in studio, He did not want to forget this day. However he decided to combine the Date & Month to his name . That day was 8th Of April 2016, April being month number 4 of the Year, Hence Chile 84.
In the year 2016 while pursuing his 10th Grade, He recorded his first studio song on 8th April at Future Music Production Studio which was being managed by Dicky Brown of Nabvutika Compound. Having so much drive for music he continued working hard towards his dream as he collaborated with different local artists including Chimzy Kelly.
On a lucky day in 2019 after he completed his 12th Grade, A Katete music based artist and producer “AlifatiQ” slide on his (Chile 84) WhatsApp DM asking if he can forward his vocals so that he can give him a free beat when he noticed that Chile 84 had potential to do wonders music wise. Without hesitation Chile 84 did as requested and they made a song entitled ” usakataye Ma Key” , Which introduced him to sarrounding areas including neighboring countries like Malawi,Mozambique, etc.
Furthermore, In 2020 Chile 84 made a move to meet AlifatiQ physically with an aim to start working together because he was motivated by His production. A lot of work has been done thereafter which includes songs like Mutima , Nsoma Na Manzi, Satana, Kumanda Kulibe & the most recent one which were done last 2022 such Doreen, Vizime, Boss Boss, APA & “Alira Wina”.
Alira Wina Export, The song was recorded in february 2022 but It was publicized on 14th April 2022. This particular record gave him another momentum in his career. Its high production quality and the vibe in it gave it wings to fly into Namibia and Botswana were Chile 84 has been having show appearances several times.
Currently, Chile 84 is the 2 Time Kwacha Music Award Winner for 2023 & 2024 Respectively as Best Artist Eastern Province, and to his name are some other Accolades that we can’t count.
He has his latest song featuring Chile One Mrzambia Zambia tagged ” Boza” that has spiked conversation and reaction to music enthusiast.
