62 Year-Old Man Dies During Sexual Encounter (Read)

A 62-year-old man has died in Mpongwe District on the Copperbelt Province after an alleged sexual encounter at a local guest house. Police have confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Shonge Sinalinga, a resident of Luanshya District. According to Copperbelt Police Commissioner Mwala Yuyi, the man checked into the named guest house on 24 January 2026 at around 15:00 hours. He was accompanied by a woman identified as Pamela Chiwala, aged 50, also from Luanshya.

While in the room, Mr. Sinalinga reportedly complained about poor air circulation. Later, lodge staff were alerted by their colleagues that something was wrong. When the receptionist went to the room, she found Mr. Sinalinga lying naked on the bed, facing upwards and unresponsive. She immediately called male workmates, who helped dress the body in a boxer.

The woman, Pamela Chiwala, was said to be frightened and attempted to leave the guest house, but she was stopped by staff members. The matter was later reported to Masaiti Police Station. Police officers inspected the body and found no visible physical injuries. The body has since been deposited at St Theresa’s Mission Hospital Mortuary, while Pamela Chiwala has been detained to assist police with ongoing investigations into the incident.
